The Chameleon-principle ® (2)

When we look to the possibilities of health insurances we see:

Local policy

International policy

+

-

Relatively cheap
No overlap with social security

Quite expensive
Total overlap of social security

-

+

No continuity when moving
No possibility when Country of residence ≠ Country of Social Security

Continuity in area of cover
No problem when Country of residence ≠ Country of Social Security

The advantage of the local policy is the disadvantage of the international policy and vice versa. There is no real compromise available!

Therefore we thought it might be interesting to have a health insurance that can adapt to most of the European social security systems and provide also, if necessary, a 100%-cover. Especially within Europe because the EU-Treaty 1408/1971 and 883/2004 obliges the expat to adapt to the social security of the country where he/she works (except in case of short period assignments).
